Silent Abyss W.I.P. by minties Silent Abyss W.I.P. by minties
I can't get my scraps working properly for some reason and completely lost what i just submitted so i guess no more scraps folder for me...

Anyway, this is a work in progress still sketchy and all. Any crits, ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated. Also, is it too dark?

Love this sooooooo much, the sketchy look of the main character in the foreground and the large and almost undone shadowy look of the beast in the background make for a perfect picture.

Beautiful lighting and atmosphere. I'm so amazed with what you can do with just a few shades of grey.

The picture itself had a wonderful back drop to it, the darkness really sets the mood of the "Face Off" that I feel. The beast itself is scary even though you say its not finished yet. The man staring it down has alot of good detail to the cloak and hair, if you were to throw some more intricacy into the sword that would be bad ass as well.

It great! but if you want advice you should put another source of light like rune on the sword or fire on the demon (fire doesn't need to be red it a demon after all)but i know your will do great

That's pretty badass. It has a great atmosphere, what with the pale lighting on the horizon and the guys cloak flapping in the wind.

I think though that the creature should stand out more. Maybe put some highlights on his body or something. The wings could be bigger too.

Anyway this is an awesome picture.

Although this is a very classic pose, you did a very good job at it. So much tension which promises an epic showdown.

a bit alien like monster. but the setting is pretty cozy and the sword very original - speaking of which, it must be really heavy. I would like more details. really sketchy piece. still very good one.

Awesome.
Very awesome.
But I agree.
The big creatuer's head needs not to be as smooth.
And maybe a different set up for its mouth.
Other than taht, awesome.

Too dark? Nah... I'd suggest a bit of highlights at the end, but it's pretty rad as is.

Nice again - I'm just checking out your gallery after seeing that tutorial (I first saw it on the newest bit, but then lost it again before I could fave it T-T) and this looks great.

The blade he is carrying looks immense, and I love the whole conept - far from being too dark, it really sets the mood. I want to see the finished product! Excellent work, I eagerly await more!

This picture is fantastic! Despite you saying that it's a WIP, it looks complete as it is. And no, it's not too dark. You've set the mood for dark things to happen.

Just recently discovered your works, and this work itself has been the deciding factor in me getting back into art. I love it, it is almost too dark, but I think that would take away the feeling of the image if it were lightened at all. Amazing work.

Hmmm, what about an energy glow around his sword? Somewhere around the blues(a light pastel-ish color) would look nice, with a couple sparks near the end of the blade(if you put the glow too strong it'd end up casting too strong of a glow onto the character which would take away from the lighting on his back(which I very much like already X3 they way you've colored it.

I wonder how maybe some wind or a twister or two(somewhere in the landscape behind him? x__x) would look..
agh, it's so beautiful already

I was thinking a twister with lighting going through it but was afraid it might take out the tension between the 2, also playing around with the sword lighting too but i've put this project on hold for 2 secret projects i hope to finish soon :evillaugh:

nah i wouldnt say it was too dark, ^-^ but zee very light bit on the clouds at the top (which ur still working on obviouslu) looks alil too bright for that weather >.o n is a lil distracting <.< i suggest a bit more of a grey behind those clouds >.> or is that light from the thunder? ^^;; then i guess maybe uh..just a glow over some dark clouds would be abit better >.> ........maybe you could keep that bright flash with just some streaky light or somthing?^^; (not sure about the last thing she said)

This is awsome, you got the feeling just right. Sketchy is good - i pick feeling over high rendering everytime, none of your stuff is broken, so don't go trying to fix anything, just move onto the next thing and keep doing what you're doing.
