This is a very amazing picture. I relate to this so well. My profile on myspace is currently: Love is a Death Threat. I just love this picture. It speaks to me in so many ways.
I love the colors and emotion planted into this piece. I have to say that this is one of the best photos I have ever seen. I am definitely going to watch you. You are one of the most amazing artists. ♥
Hmmm, I've noticed something, like all your noncolored pics have like a soul. For me it's a like, I feel bad for the person in the pic, or like in this one, I remember a time that I felt like the picture. Its the nonphysical pain that hurts worse, the feeling that still aches when you think about that time. A very beautiful soul filled picture, that beautiful captured the moment. AMAZING job!
To me (personal opinion) she looks as though she's gazing after someone or something that she knows she's never going to see again. The whole piece is full of detail and movement and is very emotional. I like it.
I would like to invite you to submit some of your artwork to be featured in Snow Palette Magazine. Snow Palette is an online magazine for artists in communities such as DA. We want to reach out to artists all over the world and support their art.
Oh lol i didnt notice the category. Ink Wash is a traditional tool. basically your painting with watered down ink, layer after layer until the image looks similar to this. The color hue looks like its ink wash in a very soft brush with no texture added. I have done an Ink wash, with Texture so it doesn't look quite like yours but you can still see the similarities. [link] mined not the best example but its the only one I've done. it takes a long time to finish seeing as each layer is almost perfectly transparent and that is difficult to get white paper to black that way haha. [mine does have the same colored hue you image has but i changed it to gray scale to post here.]
So if you ever have enough time i think you should try ink wash its fun and a good experience for any artist of any kind to try at least once.
I'd also would like to see this image if you ever paint it in a traditional way. that'd be cool.
